Writing was my first definitively formed artistic medium - I will always describe myself as "author" before "sculptor". Embedded in each of these volumes are characteristics and quirks ranging from the real world and its facets to the scientifically impossible gesticulations drawn therefrom. Therefore, I beg you to delve in, and promise: within the heartbeat, you shall be trapped wholly within a place where two Intelligent races roam in worlds that rise as earth-columns from the Gaps' endless mists. Stars that sway hue with the seasons, societies structured on the Ircenic bond between Human and Animal, heritages that resound with each world's unique nations, creatures at once recognizable and transformed - what more needs be said than that each Animal species, and each species of Human shapeshifter, bears an elemental virtue to the core power that makes them inseparable from a place lost from our memories?

Dag, a teenage Wildland scholar, finds himself besieged alongside foreigners, and must use his unique skills and knowledge to release the power of an ancient nation. Alongside his Animal double, he re-discovers the means of freeing a root ancestral power whose culture poses as many social dangers as it does wartime prowess, and finds himself playing intermediary in a time when no one who hopes to survive can afford to spurn an ally. I, personally, found it amusing to watch an introvert learn three languages, negotiate inter-historical treatises, and fall in love while locked in a mystical forest wall, while outside parade endless ranks of star-possessed warriors…
